BIOMIMICRY TECHNOLOGIES PVT LTD. faced the challenge of developing a sophisticated and comprehensive IoT solution for utility management. The solution required integrating various hardware components, communication protocols, and software interfaces to create an end-to-end utility management system. The goal was to enable efficient data collection, secure communication, and user-friendly interfaces for both administrators and end-users

Solution

 1. Device Integration:

 BIOMIMICRY TECHNOLOGIES PVT LTD. partnered with Machlab Innovation to design and implement a holistic IoT solution that encompassed diverse hardware components and communication interfaces:

a. 24Pin LCD Integration:
Integrated a 24-pin LCD display to provide real-time data visualization and status updates.
b. UART- LoRa Integration (S76/S74):
Utilized UART communication to connect LoRa modules (S76/S74) for long-range wireless data transmission.
c. TMR / Hall Sensor Integration:
Integrated Turbine-type sensors, utilizing Timer (TMR) and Hall sensors to measure rotational speed and provide turbine
performance data.
d. SPI Communication with Max35103 and Ultrasonic Sensors:
Utilized SPI communication to interface with Max35103 for energy measurement and 2 Ultrasonic sensors for distance
measurements in ultrasonic (US) type applications.
e. I2C IR Integration:
Integrated an I2C infrared (IR) sensor for advanced automatic meter reading (AMR) applications.
f. Serial Memory Storage (24C32/64):
Implemented serial memory storage for secure communication and data logging.
g. Low Power Consumption (Dark / Sleep Current < 40uA):
Designed the system to operate efficiently with low power consumption, ensuring extended device lifetimes

2. Gateway Communication:

The system’s gateway communication was designed to connect, receive, transfer, and store data securely:

 a. LoRa Connectivity:
Enabled seamless data communication between the central gateway and 1,000 discrete LoRa units using LoRa S76 technology for one-to-many communication.
b. LoRa to GSM Communication:
Transferred LoRa data to a GSM module securely with CRC code for further transmission.
c. Data Storage to Server Database:
Stored data securely in a server database using GSM 800/900/4G connectivity through packets.
d. Console API Communication:
Established communication with a console API for individual data sharing and interaction.
e. AMR Integration:
Enabled advanced automatic meter reading (AMR) capabilities, allowing data retrieval on request.

3. AMI Display and Payment Gateway:

BIOMIMICRY TECHNOLOGIES PVT LTD. further created a user-friendly web interface and payment gateway for efficient data management and transactions:

 a. Web API Creation using PHP:
Developed a PHP-based web API to receive, process, and store data from the IoT devices. The API offered interactive Java/JSON connections.
b. Admin and User Interfaces:
Created both an admin and user interface for efficient data management, visualization, and control.
c. Payment Gateway Integration:
Integrated a payment gateway, including UPI and online banking integration, to facilitate secure and streamlined payment transactions.
